DietWhen you look at a shoebill, it is expected to infer that this bird would be a pescetarian. However, although the bird does eat fish, this is far from the truth. Shoebills sit near the top of the food chain, only being preyed upon by larger mammals such as leapords, crocodiles, and rarely hyenas. Swamplands and Marshes
Swamps/Marshes are the main region that the Shoebill Stork resides in. The shoebill can remain still for hours, allowing it
to easily seek opportunity to hunt for unsuspecting aquatic prey in the waters below. The swamps in Africa
are very warm regions, which is also perfect for the shoebill since they are used to warmer temperatures.
